More of the story…
Started in music…
Amit Paul is an entrepreneur passionate about sustainability and supporting the transformation of society. An early unexpected exposure to the famous and glamorous lifestyle in the music industry. At 15 he got to tour the world as 1/4th of the pop band A-teens. The band performed with some of the most famous artists of the early 00’s like Britney Spears, *Nsync as well as Alice Cooper. A-teens sold 6 million albums globally and toured for 300+ days per year over the 6 years they were active.
Made it through school…
Despite the intense travel schedule Amit graduated from high school with excellent grades and later found his way into Stockholm School of Economics. After completing his MSc in Accounting and Financial control and working as a management consultant with Bain & Co. he found his calling as the CEO and co-founder of the family business Paxymer.
Joined the family business…
Paxymer develops and sells a patented, unique technology for eliminating toxic flame retardants while improving fire safety in plastic materials. In dealing with the complex topic of eliminating chemicals and driving innovation in the heavily regulated petrochemicals industry Amit got engaged in the topic of sustainable material use and recycling. Amit served as a board member of the Swedish plastics industry association for many years and was supporting NGOs globally in their advocacy work around improving the sustainability of plastics. Paxymer was invited as one of the few industry participants both to the COP25 and Dioxin2015 summits. The company is acknowledged as one of the most important technologies for sustainable materials, part of the Nordic Cleantech top 10, Serendipity Innovation challenge and the GC3 startup network. The work with Paxymer gave Amit a first hand understanding of what it really takes to drive and change the narrative in a conservative industry.
Change…
Based on his experience with Paxymer, Amit started digging deeper into change processes. 2015 was also the year when Amit and his wife had their first child and the topic of the state of the world came even more to the forefront in a visceral way. In an effort to understand how the world works Amit started looking at perspectives around complex systems, systems change, co-creation, regenerative leadership, regenerative business, life-long learning, vertical development and process facilitation. In parallell, an internal journey triggered by fatherhood meant beginning to explore his own mind, patterning and trauma. A longing for more presence led him to explore spiritual, philosophical and mystical perspectives, alongside an ecology of practices to cultivate his attention. As the exploration deepened more of his engagement focused on freedom, joy, alignment and co-creation.
New beginnings…
What does it mean to hospice the dying (modernity and capitalism) and midwife the new world that is yet to be imagined?
The past five years has meant immersion in a number of different contexts. Amit co-founded World of Wisdom - gatherings for a sustainable future and Innrwrks - a transformation lab and studio as well as the worlds first RCO. Amit is a board member of the transformative learning network Legacy17 and has (with Nils von Heijne) created the RCO - a living systems perspective informed organisational structure for a new paradigm. Amit is deeply involved and engaged in a number of emerging initiatives for experimenting and understanding what it means to be human in our current time between worlds. The wide set of topics he is looking at is reflected in the World of Wisdom Podcast as well as the writing he does on his Substack. Currently practicing and experimenting in the roles of founder, advisor, facilitator, consultant, speaker, artist, coach, husband and father. Curious about what it means to regeneratively transform our systems and lives.
